Grandma and Grandpa Saupe - 50th Anniversary and Nauvoo

This past weekend my parents, Carly, and I went out to Boone, Iowa to be with my grandparents, aunt, uncle, and cousins to celebrate by grandparent's 50th anniversary!  That's quite the achievement, it seems more so these days, and I'm excited for the day when Carly and I can celebrate that moment as well.  We, my parents, Carly, and I, all worked on a quilt for them which is shown below.

We celebrated by spending lots of time together playing games, taking a tour of the area, learning about framing practices and machinery(Carly even got to drive a huge tractor!), geochaching, and eating at some wonderful restaurants and great meals at home.  Attached to this post are a number of the photos we took from their home and the surrounding area.  We played a lot of Ticket To Ride - Europe and Phase 10, for everyone interested in the games we played.  They are really fun and I highly recommend Ticket to Ride.

We decided to take one more day of vacation and stop by Nauvoo to see the beautiful temple there and to learn the history of the area.  It was really great to see the temple there and see the great shows that they put on for vistors at the vistor's center nearby.  We stayed the two nights at a bed and breakfast close to Nauvoo.  It was really awesome and the breakfast truly was amazing.  We had a lot of fun and it was a well-needed vacation.

First make it possible.  Then make it beautiful.  Then make it fast.
