Our New Home - The Main Floor

Welcome to our home.  I promised updates and now they begin.  Carly took these great pictures of the main floor of our house.  It is so nice and we have so much to do but for now this is what it looks like.  Let me walk you through it.

This is the view you will see coming through the front door.  Don't mind the dog, we'll talk about her soon :). The door on the left is the downstairs bathroom.

It is a half-bathroom so only a toilet and sink in here but it is very nice.  The ceilings everywhere on the main floor are 9-feet so there is plenty of head room.  Moving on from the bathroom there are stairs going upstairs to the bedrooms, loft, and other portions of the house.

Now we can move into that big area you see in the picture above with the couch and chairs.  The dining room and main room are together, as well as the kitchen.  It is one massive open area and with those large walls there is a lot of possibility and we just don't know what to do with it yet!

The kitchen is there on the left, dining area in the back by the windows, and the main room there on the right.  You might recognize a couple of our projects there.  The white shelves we built are now where we had originally planned them to be, the entertainment center is there with the TV on it, and the chairs that we will someday clean up when we get or build a new larger table.  Let's take a look at each area.

As you can see we have a lot of space to work with!  All of that stuff felt really cramped and small in our old place but here it seems very small.  The walls seem very bare because we haven't put up any pictures or anything yet.  We are still deciding just how we want to do that.

This is the dining area.  We hung the curtains ourselves and the table is obviously too small for the new space.  We never realized how small that table really was until we moved it into this new house.  It looks very out of place and we will need to change that soon.

Here is the kitchen.  We love it!  So much space and the lighting is great.  The island in the middle is a very great thing to have.  The door in the back leads to our backyard that isn't quite done yet.  They haven't put in the sod yet so it is just a bunch of mud but will be great when it is done.

That's the first floor of our home!  We hope you enjoyed the tour.  We will be sure to take some great pictures of the upstairs to show you more soon.  Everything is moved in and now all that is left is to really make it our own.
